Rebecca & Adam’s Wedding at Karma La Herriza, Marbella

There are weddings that feel like weddings, and then there are weddings that feel like a few brilliant days away with all your favourite people. Rebecca and Adam’s was definitely the latter.

Set at Karma La Herriza, in the Andalusian hills not far from Marbella, their weekend was colourful, sun-soaked and wonderfully relaxed. Nothing felt overly formal or over-planned. Just good people, beautiful surroundings, a lot of laughter and, eventually, a very full dance floor.

A laid-back welcome to Costa del Sol

The weekend started with a casual welcome party — exactly the right way to begin a destination wedding in Spain.

Everyone had a chance to arrive, grab a drink and settle into the slower rhythm of southern Spain. There was no complicated schedule and no pressure for the evening to be anything other than a chance to spend time together.

These are often some of our favourite moments to photograph. People aren’t thinking about the camera yet. They’re catching up, meeting each other, drinking, laughing and enjoying the fact that they’re somewhere beautiful with nowhere else they need to be.

It set the tone for everything that followed.

Wedding day at Karma La Herriza

Karma La Herriza is a pretty special place for a wedding.

Away from the busier coastline of Marbella and the Costa del Sol, it’s surrounded by mountains and Andalusian countryside. Whitewashed walls, little courtyards, terraces and that unmistakable Spanish light make the whole place incredibly photogenic without it ever feeling too polished.

Rebecca and Adam leaned into that atmosphere.

Their wedding day was calm and unhurried, with most of the celebration happening outside. Rather than disappearing for endless portraits, they actually got to spend the day with their guests — which is exactly how we like to work too.

We took them away for a little while to make some portraits, but for most of the day we simply followed what was happening around us.

The little moments. The chaos. Friends laughing over drinks. People wandering between tables. The changing afternoon light. The things that might not seem important at the time but somehow become the photographs you come back to years later.

A Marbella wedding that actually felt like Marbella

Marbella and the Costa del Sol can obviously do glamour very well, but that isn’t the only reason we love photographing weddings here.

Head a little inland and southern Spain feels completely different. The mountains, old white villages and Andalusian architecture give weddings around Marbella a sense of place that is difficult to recreate elsewhere.

Rebecca and Adam didn’t need to add much to it.

They brought their favourite people to Spain, chose a beautiful place and let the weekend unfold around them.

Simple. Sunny. A little wild by the end.
